PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment method capable of providing excellent toughness and elongation to a maraging steel member. SOLUTION: In the heat treatment method of maraging steel, a maraging steel member 4 is subjected to compression molding by 40-65%. The compression molded maraging steel member 4 is heated at the temperature in a range of 620-670°C to generate reverse-transformation austenitic phase of 25-35 vol.% to the total amount of the maraging steel member. After generating reverse-transformation austenitic phase, the maraging steel member 4 is surface-hardened.
