PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably produce chips small in particle size without causing the lowering of the production of the chips by clogging even when an object to be crushed contains lots of water. SOLUTION: In a branch crushing machine having a crusher 1 for crushing the object and an apparatus for feeding the object charged from an inlet into the crusher 1, a cutter wheel 43 having a cutter knife 46 for crushing the object primarily and a hammer knife 48 for crushing the object secondarily and a fan blade 35 for discharging the chips outside the crusher 1 are installed in the crushing frame 42 of the crusher 1. A screen 10 which discharges chips smaller than particles of a prescribed size to the side of the fan blade 35 is fitted to the cutter wheel 43, and the screen 10 and a crushing edge 13 separated by a prescribed distance from the screen 10 are installed inside the crushing frame 42.
