PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide gravel through further shortening solvent evaporation time to improve operating efficiency and cut power consumption. SOLUTION: A method for producing water-repellent gravel is provided, comprising the following process: 1st step comprises feeding gravel 10 into the cylindrical tube 19 of a dryer 13 to evaporate the moisture in the gravel by blowing hot air from a hot air generator 27; 2nd step comprises feeding the dried gravel 10 into a mixer 15 while feeding a mixture of a silicone oil and petroleum as a catalyst doubling as a solvent and carrying out an agitation mixing so as to make the mixture adhere to the whole gravel 10; and 3rd step comprises feeding the resultant gravel 10 into an evaporator 16 to evaporate the petroleum and subject the silicone to baking coating on the surface of the gravel 10.
