PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of performing image display and image encoding of an excellent resolution, of realizing excellent electronic zoom to an electronic apparatus, and of reducing a circuit scale.

SOLUTION: An image signal processing part 13 generates digital image data D1 from an image signal S1 outputted by an imaging device 12 and outputs it to the image processor 10. The image processor 10 extracts a rectangular area from the digital image data D1, appropriately converts resolution of the rectangular area into either resolution of an image to be displayed to a display part 26 or resolution of an image to be encoded by an encoding part 27. An image compression display unit 2 obtains resolution of an image to be displayed in the display part 26 and resolution of an image to be encoded by the encoding part 27 by detecting resolution of digital image data D3 inputted by a resolution detection part 21 and performing adaptively resolution conversion in accordance with the detected resolution.
