SUBSTRATE FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate failures in continuity by preventing residues and peeling of a CF of a substrate for LCD having the CF on an array substrate side.

SOLUTION: A passivation film 14 formed between a pixel electrode formed in each of a plurality of pixel areas and a TFT 2 driving the pixel electrode has a laminated structure of an SiN layers 14a and 14b and an SiO layer 14c, and includes the SiO layer 14c as its top layer. On the passivation film 14 in such laminated structure, a resin CF layer 15 is formed. The resin CF layer 15 is formed directly on the SiO layer 14c to be prevented from decreasing in contacting strength, the CF hardly peels when the resin CF layer 15 is formed, and residues of the CF are hardly produced when a contact hole is formed in the resin CF layer 15. Consequently, the failures in continuity is prevented to realize a TFT substrate 1 and an LCD which have superior display characteristics and high reliability.
