PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-resolution and high-sensitivity ultrasonogram by changing matching conditions between an ultrasonic probe and an ultrasonic transmission section or between the ultrasonic probe and an ultrasonic receiving section. SOLUTION: A plurality of tuning circuit elements (inductors) 46 serially connected to a selector switch 34 are provided between an ultrasonic vibrator 71 sending and receiving ultrasonic waves to and from a specimen and a pulser 13 supplying driving signal to the ultrasonic vibrator 71 or a preamplifier 14 receiving a reflected ultrasonic wave signal from the ultrasonic vibrator 71, and a desired tuning circuit element 46 is selected from the plurality of tuning circuit elements 46 by the selector switch 34 and connected on the basis of connection information corresponding to the purpose of diagnosis supplied from a system control section 8.
