PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a use position holding device of a table board capable of allowing retraction and storing motions of the table board in an emergency, and capable of preventing the unintentional storing motion. SOLUTION: The table board 17 can be stored/taken out inside a side panel case 15 located on either left or right side of a chair body 13 through an opening 39 of the side panel case via link members comprising a support arm 48, an intermediate arm 49, and a base arm 51. When the table board is at the use position in front of a seated person, a ball 75 of a ball plunger 74 screwed into the intermediate arm 49 is located inside a hole 85 formed in the base arm 51 to give rotational resistance. Accordingly, even if the weight of an object such as a beverage is applied near the center of rotation of the table board 17, the unintentional rotation of the table board and link members can be prevented.
