PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vane rotating swirl detection body that has an excellent precision and can be maintained and managed easily. SOLUTION: The vane rotating swirl detector 15 is provided with; a shaft body 15a rotatably arranged along the axial direction of a cylinder; a vane 15c that is interlocked to the shaft body 15a and is rotated with the shaft body 15 by receiving a swirling flow S in the cylinder; and a non-contact type bearing 15b for rotatably supporting the shaft body 15a. Additionally, a swirl measuring apparatus 10 comprises the vane rotating swirl detector 15; a model cylinder 11 for detecting the swirling flow S by the vane rotating swirl detector 15; a tank 12 that is interlocked to the model cylinder 11 via a hole section having nearly the same diameter as the inner diameter of the model cylinder 11 and has a capacity being larger than the capacity of the model cylinder; and an exhauster 13 for discharging air in a tank 12. Since the swirl measuring apparatus 10 does not generate any friction when the shaft body 15a is rotated, the precision in the vane rotating swirl detector 15 can be improved.
