PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to improve a distributing speed by efficiently using a whole band. SOLUTION: This relay type contents distributing method uses a communication system where a transmitter and a plurality of receivers are connected through a predetermined communication network to distribute the information of contents owned by the transmitter to each receiver. This relay type contents distributing method is characterized in that the plurality of receivers are divided into a plurality of groups according to a predetermined algorithm, and an in-group distribution path where the plurality of receivers are linked together is assigned in each group, and the information of the in-group distribution path is notified to each receiver, and each receiver, when receiving contents from another receiver, receives the data of contents from the other receiver at an upstream side determined by the in-group distribution path, and at the same time, transfers the data of the contents to the other receiver at a downstream side determined by the in-group distribution path .
