PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable encoding and encoding error detection for every lane with respect to a bite parallel frame signal. SOLUTION: The encoding method is adapted to encode the frame signal composed of a column formed with a bite train of N (an integer≥2)lanes comprising a data frame and a frame cap. When all 8 bytes of a pre-code-conversion block are constituted with Ds, a post-code-conversion block, where a prescribed 2 bit header is added to a head of the pre-code-conversion block, is created. When bites other than the Ds are included, for the bites other than the Ds code conversion bites are formed from information indicative of positions of the bites in the pre-code-conversion block, information indicative of to which bite the position corresponds, information indicative of whether or not the next bite is the D upon relocation of the bites, parity information thereof, and free bits. Further, They are relocated in turn from the code conversion bites for the bites other than the Ds, and then the Ds are relocated to construct an 8 bite block. Thus, the post-code-conversion block where a prescribed 2 bit header is added to the head of the 8 bite block is created.
