PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a buffer having a size enough to store all data from a data supplying apparatus and the time required for storing the all data from the data supplying apparatus by the start of the reproduction, the buffer and the time being necessary heretofore when the reproduction is carried out by synchronizing the data from the data supplying apparatus with data of an optical disk. SOLUTION: A multimedia reproducing device is furnished with a data transmitting/receiving part 31 for transmitting a command 27 requesting sub-multimedia data to the data supplying apparatus 21 and receiving sub-multimedia data 25, the buffer 32 for storing sub-multimedia data 41, a multimedia reproducing part 34 for simultaneously reproducing main data and sub-multimedia data 42 on a reproduction medium 24 by utilizing the synchronization information 45 recorded on the reproduction medium 24, and a received data control part 33 for determining the timing to transmit the command 27 requesting the sub-multimedia data on the basis of the control information and a transmission speed 26 of a data transmission path 23.
