PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which has simple constitution, is free of a decrease in aperture ratio, and can be made fine. SOLUTION: Provided are a liquid crystal panel 7 having such a display characteristic that when it is assumed that front transmissivity in white display and transmissivity at an oblique field angle are regarded as 1 respectively, transmission intensity at the oblique field angle is larger than front transmission intensity, and a driving voltage setting part (LUT3, driving voltage generation part 4) which sets a driving voltage for driving the liquid crystal panel 7 and supplies the set driving voltage to the liquid crystal panel. The driving voltage setting part (LUT3, driving voltage generation part 4) sets the driving voltage according to a field angle characteristic of the liquid crystal panel 7 and controls the field angle characteristic.
