LENS BARREL SUPPORTING DEVICE AND PROJECTION TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect respective parts when an electric switch for shifting a lens barrel breaks down and to reduce manufacture cost. SOLUTION: The supporting device is constituted so that the lens barrel 16 is driven to be moved up and down by a motor 41, and provided with a clutch mechanism 44 between a motor 41 and a feed screw 38 in addition to a sensor 51 being the electric switch and mechanical stopper parts 34 and 35. The mechanism 44 is constituted to press a motor side reduction gear 48 by a coil spring 49 wound round the rotary shaft 43 of the motor 41. Thus, overload imposed on the motor 41 by the mechanism 44 when the sensor 51 being the electric switch breaks down and the motor 41 keeps working in a state where a 2nd mount 22 supporting the lens barrel 16 abuts on the stopper parts 34 and 35 is lightened.
