PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for steaming, insect-repelling and preservative treatment of timber which enables efficient steaming treatment at a prescribed temperature by spraying water from a shower and also enables the insect-repelling and preservative treatment by spraying an insect-repellent and preservative agent from the shower. SOLUTION: In this method, steam from a steam boiler is jetted into a drying chamber 1 and this chamber 1 is kept at a definite temperature. When the temperature of the drying chamber 1 rises up to the definite temperature or above in the process of steaming the timber 2, drying is ended, while the temperature of the drying chamber 1 is lowered to the definite temperature or below by spraying the water into the chamber 1 from the shower 5. Moreover the insect-repellent and preservative agent is sprayed thereafter on the timber 2 from the shower 5 to perform the insect-repelling and preservative treatment. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
