PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating the mastitis of stocks by using activated chlorine dioxide, exhibiting an excellent treating effect for the mastitis of the stocks. SOLUTION: This method for treating the mastitis of the stock comprises injecting a chlorine dioxide agent containing chlorine dioxide into the mammas of the stocks suffering from the mastitis to sterilize and disinfect the causing bacteria of the mastitis. By the method of injecting the activated chlorine dioxide having a low toxicity and remaining property within a controlled concentration region and a potent sterilizing and disinfecting effect directly into the mammas of milking cows suffering from the mastitis which is very difficult to cure, to sterilize and disinfect the causing bacteria, the surprising≥70 % improvements or effective examples in bovine mastitis are observed and it is possible to promote widely the shipments of raw milk.
