A tubular element (2) forming the drum on which a roller blind is supported, mounted to rotate in either direction about its longitudinal axis. The control system incorporates a rotation detector within the roller itself. The system, for monitoring the rotation of the drum, comprises a set of magnetic poles on the inside surface of the drum, and an internally mounted pair of detectors providing varying signals as these magnetic poles move past them. The detectors provide either logical 0 or 1 signals, and the combination indicates the details of the movement of the roller. Motors are provided to drive the roller blind, and these are controlled in response to the detected signals to achieve specific positioning of the roller blind. |
