Video data is transferred from onboard vehicle monitoring cameras to a central unit (6) in which video data from the cameras is transmitted to the central unit using a digital radio transmission method, e.g. an OFDM or DAB method, preferably using a packet mode. An independent claim is made for a system for transferring video data from vehicle monitoring cameras to a central unit.
