IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of providing a good color electrophotographic image with respect to an image forming apparatus of an intermediate transfer system using cleaning-less image forming units, and to provide an image forming method.

SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a plurality of cleaning-less image forming units are arranged and toner images formed with toner materials having different hues in the plurality of image forming units are sequentially superposed and transferred from electrophotographic photoreceptors onto an intermediate transfer member to form a color toner image on the intermediate transfer member. The turbidity of each color toner used in the developing means of the plurality of image forming units is <60, and the turbidity difference between color toner materials is 5 to 45 at a maximum. One of the developing means contains black toner whose turbidity is <25.
