发明名称 WAVELENGTH CONVERTING DEVICE
摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a device capable of directly converting the wavelength of signal light to an arbitrary wavelength without requiring high-power excitation light nor an optical filter for cutting excitation light. <P>SOLUTION: While the signal light is inputted to one end of a phase modulating circuit 209, a saw-tooth wave which is generated by a saw-tooth wave generating circuit 1 and has the same frequency as that of the signal light is inputted to the phase modulating circuit 2 while being phase-adjusted through a phase adjustment part 3 so that a time region of each time slot of the signal light which has a value "0" or "1" synchronizes with a rising part of the saw-tooth wave which has a nearly constant gradient. Consequently, wavelength conversion imparted as differential value of phase conversion is performed for respective bits of the signal light, which is then outputted from the other end of the phase modulating circuit 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
