PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system of which installation is hardly identified and which reduces the possibility of impairing the appearance of an installation space. SOLUTION: The system comprises a system main body 30 having a monitoring means for monitoring the presence and absence of an intruder and a countermeasure executing means for executing a countermeasure when the presence of the intruder is identified by the monitoring means; and an exterior body 20 for covering almost the whole of the main body 30 and functioning as an electrical appliance. The monitoring means may be composed by using a monitoring camera, and the appliance may be disposed at an upper section in a room.
