PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, having a refrigerating area and a freezing area cooled by separate evaporators, and reducing endoregic load amount while keeping a thermal insulation wall of the freezing area thin to maintain a balance between that and the endoregic load amount of the refrigerating area. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator, a vacuum thermal insulation material 18 is disposed in the range of 40 to 80% of the total area of the thermal insulation wall forming an ice making room 5, a switching room 6 and a freezing room 7 which are a freezing area, whereby the vacuum thermal insulating material 18 is used effectively in respect of cost performance to reduce the endoregic load amount of the ice making room 5, the switching room 6 and the freezing room 7 which are the freeing area while a wall thickness is kept thin to maintain a balance between that and the endoregic load amount of a refrigerating room 3 and a vegetable room 4 which are a refrigerating area, thereby preventing lowering of the evaporation temperature so that the system efficiency is lowered to lengthen the operation time.
