PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element which hardly deteriorates in characteristic as an optical element having a plurality of resin layers and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: (a) A substrate 1 and a pattern 2 which are transparent to ultraviolet rays are arranged opposite each other to form a gap between them. (b) The gap is filled with an ultraviolet-ray setting resin 3, which is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from the reverse surface of the substrate 1 to set. (c) The pattern 2 is removed and then a diffraction grating is formed of the ultraviolet-ray setting resin 3. (d) The surface of the ultraviolet-ray setting resin 3 is coated and so on to be filmed with an ultraviolet-ray absorbing layer 4. A 2nd pattern 5 is arranged opposite the ultraviolet-ray setting resin 3 to form a gap with the ultraviolet-ray setting resin 3. (f) A second ultraviolet-ray setting resin 6 is charged in the gap by injection molding etc., and irradiated with ultraviolet rays from the reverse surface of the 2nd pattern 5 to set. (g) The second pattern 5 is removed and then a diffraction grating is formed of two layers of ultraviolet-ray setting resins 3 and 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
