PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently excavate a survey hole in a short period of time while making the most of the advantage of hydraulic excavation, wherein there is little fear of damage to an underground buried structure. SOLUTION: In survey hole excavating equipment for the underground buried structure, a cylindrical excavating implement body 1, wherein a pressurized water injection nozzle 3 is provided on the side of a leading end, is mounted on a trestle 5 in a vertically placed state; a suction pipe 6 is positioned in the body 1; a jet of pressurized water 17 is emitted from the nozzle 3 into ground to be excavated, while the body 1 is rotated; the ground is hydraulically excavated; the body 1 is sequentially inserted into a formed excavated hole 9; and concurrently with that, slurry/sediment 18 in the body 1 is sucked in for elimination by the suction pipe 6.
