PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair-treatment agent which imparts gloss, resilience and elasticity to hair, makes the hair easier to comb, prevents split ends and improves cohesion of the hair, and effectively prevents fading of hair dye by shampoo when used after hair dyeing in addition to these effects. SOLUTION: The hair treatment agent contains a silylated peptide-silane compound copolymer composition having a viscosity of 500-20,000 mPas at 20°C when the solid concentration is 70%. The copolymer composition is obtained by subjecting a silylated peptide having two or more hydroxyl groups directly bound to a silicon atom and a silane compound generating two or more hydroxyl groups directly bonded to a silicon atom through hydrolysis to a polycondensation and subsequently reacting the product with a silane compound generating a hydroxyl group directly bonded to a silicon atom through hydrolysis.
