PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal which reduces a user's troublesome work by automatically requesting a server to receive an electronic mail immediately after a telephone call or communication is finished, and also to provide a method for receiving the electronic mail in the terminal. SOLUTION: The communication terminal is provided with a electronic mail reception requesting means which positively receives the electronic mail, a call completion detecting means which detects a time when the call or communication is completed, and a control means which controls the electronic mail reception requesting means so that the communication terminal automatically requests the electronic mail server to receive the electronic mail.
