PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint collation system capable of executing the update of an appropriate fingerprint database according to the comparison result of fingerprint data from a fingerprint processor. SOLUTION: Search fingerprint data inputted by a fingerprint processing terminal 10 are transmitted to a fingerprint collating device 30 connected through a network 100, and candidate fingerprint data matched with the search fingerprint data are extracted from a fingerprint data base 30-1of the fingerprint collating device 30, and transmitted as the collation result to the fingerprint processing terminal, and the search fingerprint data are compared with the candidate fingerprint data based on the collation result in the fingerprint processing terminal 10. The comparison result from the fingerprint processing terminal 10 is received by a transaction control device 20 connected through a communication line to the fingerprint processing terminal and the fingerprint collating device, and the update request of the fingerprint data base 30-1 based on the comparison result is transmitted through the network 100 to the fingerprint collating device.
