PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of demolishing a stack shell of a self-standing steel stack supported to a steel tower. SOLUTION: This method comprises a process of providing a demolition scaffolding around the base part of the stack shell, boring a hanging hook through opening in the circumferential direction of the stack shell in the desired height position of the demolition scaffolding, inserting a hanging hook in the hanging hook through opening to support the stack shell, cutting and dividing the lower part of the stack shell into portable size to remove it; a process of installing a conveying means capable of moving to the spot of the stack shell base part after removal and placing the stack shell; a process of lowering the hanging hook and placing the lower face of the stack shell on the conveying means; and a process of pulling out and lifting the hanging hook, inserting it in a newly bored hanging hook through opening to support the stack shell again, cutting the lower part of the stack shell and carrying out the cut stack shell by the conveying means. The process of cutting the stack shell and carrying out the cut stack shell is repeated the requested number of times to demolish the stack shell. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
