The holder consists of a flat oval plate shaped like a pretzel, and a similarly shaped flat cover with knob for holding. Both parts may be of wood, plastic, or other materials. The plate is approx. 1.5cam thick, and has a rim glued or screwed to it, which is approx. 1.5cm wide and 1cm high. The rim is approx. half the height of a pretzel to retain it on the plate and also serves as support when slicing through it. The cover has an aperture to accommodate the knot in a pretzel.
