<p>A parking device for a motor vehicle where frictional force of an engine cannot stop the rotation of an input shaft of a speed changer during the stop of the engine. The parking device has a parking gear provided on the input shaft, a parking lock mechanism selectively engaging the parking gear, a change lever mechanically connected to the parking lock mechanism, a speed change actuator for actuating the speed changer to each speed stage, parking operation detecting means provided in an operation route of the change lever from a neutral position to a parking position, and control means. The control means activates the speed change actuator to actuate the speed changer to a predetermined speed stage when the parking operation detecting means detects the change lever being operated in the movement of the lever from the neutral position to the parking position.</p> |
