<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication errors by preventing light transmittance from declining extremely in optical space communication. <P>SOLUTION: A linear polarization whose intensity is modulated is generated from a laser 2 in accordance with transmission data. The linear polarization passes through a 1/4 wave plate 3, and is converted into circular polarization by the 1/4 wave plate 3. The circular polarization is inputted to an optical transmission part 4. Transmission light is transmitted into a space data communication path 5 by the optical transmission part 4. The transmission light is received by a light receiving part 6. The received light is converted into reception data by the light receiving part 6 and are taken out to an output terminal 7. A light passing through the space data communication path 5 is the circular polarization and not fixed into a specific polarization direction, and since a polarized light of low transmittance and a polarized light of high transmittance are equalized, it is avoided that the transmittance becomes extremely deteriorated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
