PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis and an osteoclastogenesis inhibiting agent, wherein the osteoporosis is a disease accompanying symptoms such as fracture and osteoclasia by lowering bone density and bone strength as bone amount abnormally decreases, the agents are effective for prophylaxis of osteoporosis.

SOLUTION: The therapeutic agent for osteoporosis and the osteoclastogenesis inhibitor each comprises Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. or its treated material as an active ingredient. In the therapeutic agent for osteoporosis and the osteoclastogenesis inhibitor, Cordyceps sinensis Sacc. is cultured mycelium and inhibits reduction of a cancellous bone density.
