SCANNING UNIT FOR ENCODER OPTICALLY SCANNING MEASUREMENT BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identical detector which is used for both a light irradiation method and a light transmission method, in order to scan a measuring body.

SOLUTION: A scanning unit for an encoder comprises: one light source emitting light in the direction of the measurement body; one detector which receives the light changed by the measurement body; and a lens arrangement, having plural lenses disposed ahead of the detector which is to form a specific pattern on the detector in the region of the measuring body scanned by the light. The lateral magnification of the lens arrangements 3, 4 is larger than zero and smaller than 1.
