PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot air generator suitable for baking out. SOLUTION: This hot air generator includes: a housing 3 and a combustion chamber 5 disposed in the interior thereof, wherein combustion gas 71 output from the combustion chamber 5 and outside air 72 by-passing the combustion chamber 5 are mixed in an air duct 39 in front 3a of the housing 3, and output as a large amount of hot air 73. In front of the air duct 39, a porous catalyst unit 30 set to cover the substantially whole area of the section is provided so that the whole hot air 73 is passed through the catalyst unit 30. The whole hot air 73 is passed through the catalyst unit 30, so that the whole catalyst unit is heated by the hot air 73, and VOC 79 such as formaldehyde contained in the hot air 73 is effectively decomposed and removed.
