PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently obtaining an optically active myo-inositol derivative from (D,L)-myo-inositol derivatives composed of a mixture of the D-isomer and the L-isomer according to a simple method. SOLUTION: The method for producing the optically active myo-inositol derivative is carried out as follows. The mixture of the (D,L)-myo-inositol derivatives is brought into contact with a carboxylic acid halide compound such as benzoyl chloride in the presence of an optically active oxazoline-copper complex catalyst, e.g. 2,2'-isopropylidenebis[(4R)-4-phenyl-2-oxazoline]copper chloride complex and a base such as diisopropylethylamine. Thereby, one optical isomer in the mixture is selectively acylated to separate the acylated optical isomer from the unreacted optical isomer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
