The dowel consists of a dowel body (1) and expander segments (4), engaging on shoulders (7) of its flat faces (3). It has an external diameter, which is larger than the diameter of the hole it is to be fixed in. After a crevice of up to approx. 0,5mm width passing through the bore hole, has been formed, the dowel is fixed in the holder and cannot slide out. A spring ring (5) held flat on the dowel body fixes the expander segments axially and radially on the dowel body. The ring is fixed in grooves (6) in the segments.
