An output limiting device keeps the combined outputs of a motor (3) and a prime mover (2) below or equal to a permissible input driving torque that is delivered to an automatic transmission (10) through an input shaft. The motor fixing device controls the motor output in such a manner that the motor output, when combined with the prime mover output, will not exceed the permissible input driving torque. A prime mover control equipment controls the output of the prime mover. An independent claim is also included for a method for steering a hybrid vehicle.
