PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery excellent in an output characteristic such as a discharge or pulse discharge with large current in general use, and capable of controlling current in case of an abnormality such as an external short circuit. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises an outer can with one opened end, which is used also as a unipolar terminal; an electrode body housed in the outer can, the electrode body consisting of a negative electrode, a separator, and a positive electrode; a nonaqueous electrolyte contained in the outer can; and a sealing lid group for sealing the opening of the facing can through an insulating member. The sealing lid group comprises a pore-less sheet-like PTC element having an easily breakable part breakable by an internal pressure rise involved in gas generation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
