PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multidirectional switch capable of miniaturizing a switch unit and of reducing the cost thereof. SOLUTION: Two slide plates 51 and 52 are respectively mounted slidably by a predetermined stroke with a step in a state where their sliding directions intersect nearly perpendicularly to each other along the upper surface of a switch base 1. Elongated holes 51a and 52a long in directions respectively perpendicular to the sliding directions are formed at the intersecting parts of both the slide plates 51 and 52; and an operation part 50 slidable in an arbitrary direction along the upper surface of the switch base 1 is formed on the upper surfaces of the slide plates 51 and 52. In addition, a sliding engagement part 57 inserted and locked in a slidable state only along the longitudinal direction of both the elongated holes 51a and 52a is formed on the back side of the operation part 50; and tact switches 53-56 turned on/off by pressing/releasing operation based on the sliding of the respective slide plates 51 and 52 are respectively installed at both stroke ends of the respective slide plates 51 and 52.
