PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To divide the users of mobile terminal devices acting in a group into groups so as to deliver optimal service information. SOLUTION: An information providing system is composed of mobile terminal devices 102 and 104, a grouping device 112, an information providing device 114, a GPS device 106, a relay station 108, a communication network 110, stores 116, and a service providing side instrument. These devices are connected together through a communication network. The grouping device divides the users of the mobile terminal devices into groups whose position information is common among them through the prescribed time interval, and optimal information is provided to each group from the information providing device.
