PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static charge eliminator with restrained spark discharge, maintaining ion balance for a long period, capable of stably eliminating static charge, with little abrasion and damage of a discharging electrode. SOLUTION: In the static charge eliminator 1, an insulation member 14 is arranged at the inside surface of a grounding electrode 13 serving as a metal cap to impose a static capacity between a discharge needle 9 and itself. Further, a capacitor element is connected between the grounding electrode 13 and the ground to make a discharge current flow to the ground through the capacitor element. Since the static capacity (the capacitor) is imposed on the metal cap serving as the grounding electrode, both of positive and negative polarities of the discharging current from the discharging electrode are attenuated and spark discharge is restrained, and generation of positive and negative ion is levelled.
