A valve gear of an engine, comprising a swing member (9) swingably driven by a drive means (8), a control arm (10) disposed between the swing cam face (9b) of the swing member (9) and the rocker side pressed face (11d) of a rocker a rm (11), and a moving mechanism for moving a contact point between the swing ca m face (9b) of the control arm (10) and the rocker side pressed face (11d). Th e rocker side pressed face (11d) is formed so as to be formed in an arc shape having its center at the swing center (a) of the swing member (9) and so tha t the rocker side pressed face (11d) or its extension line (11d~) passes near the swing center (b) of the rocker arm (11).
