Automatic exchange systems. - According to the Provisional Specification, in an automatic telephone exchange, the cables on a single switch rack are carried in pressed steel troughing. Power distribution to a rack of automatic switches is effected by flat copper bus-bars, which may be in parallel and are preferably supported on porcelain insulators, the bus-bars being protected by sheet-iron covers, and the various bars of a set being preferably supported apart a distance equal to the width of a bar so that the simple lap joints may be made beween adjacent lengths. Distribuion to individual racks is preferably made through circuit-breakers supported by current-carrying rod or strip directly from the bus-bars. Means mav be provided to give an alarm when a circuitbreaker trips.
