The present invention relates to a heat resistant structural insulating material comprising a matrix containing 30 to 44 percent by weight of Portland or aluminous cement and 15 to 30 percent by weight of quartz powder, and further comprising a reinforcement formed by 25 to 40 percent by weight of fibrous wollastonite and 0.5 to 3.0 percent by weight of carbon fibers, whereby it further contains 0.1 to 10.3 percent by weight of dispersant, all the percentages being based on the total weight of the mixture. It can preferably also contain 0.3 to 2.5 percent by weight of superplasticizer agent and 0.05 to 0.3 percent by weight of defoamer agent. The dispersant is represented by 0.1 to 0.3 percent by weight of alkyl cellulose and/or 1.0 to 10.0 percent by weight of microsilica. The invented material is intended for manufacture of parts and components exposed to mechanical stress under permanently elevated temperatures.
