Method for transient expression of (poly)peptides (I) in mammalian cells (A). Method for transient expression of (poly)peptides (I) in mammalian cells (A) comprises: (a) growing (A) in a 70:30-30:70 mixture (M) of calcium-free, vitamin- and amino acid-supplemented Dulbecco's modified Eagle medium (DMEM) and Freestyle (RTM); (b) transfection with an expressible nucleic acid (II) that encodes (I), in calcium-free DMEM and in presence of poly(ethylene imine) (PEI); and (c) growing the transfected cells. An independent claim is also included for a culture medium comprising a 70:30-30:70 mixture (M) of calcium-free, vitamin- and amino acid-supplemented DMEM and Freestyle (RTM).
