PURPOSE: A solid-state image pickup device is provided to reduce the loss of incident light on a photodiode and to improve the reliability by forming an anti-reflective coating spaced apart from a field oxide on the photodiode. CONSTITUTION: A solid-state image pickup device includes a photodiode(2), a circuit element adjacent to the photodiode, and a field oxide(7). An anti-reflective coating(16) is formed on a light receiving surface of the photodiode. At this time, the anti-reflective coating is spaced apart from the field oxide.
