PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance wear resistance of teeth of a gear. SOLUTION: A gearing is a rack-and-pinion gear 25 comprising a pinion 31 and a rack 32. When a tooth profile of a right-angled plane to the tooth or that of a right-angled plane to an axis of the tooth is viewed, the pinion 31 and the rack 32 include, in surfaces of teeth roots 31c, 32c, arcuate surfaces 31b, 32b defining their centers as a point C1 biased from a reference pitch line Pi of the gear and, also in surfaces of tooth roots 31c, 32d, arcuate surfaces 31d, 32d defining their centers as a point C2 biased from the reference pitch line Pi of the gear. Consequently, there is provided a pressing means capable of pressing either the pinion 31 or the rack 32 in such a direction that the both engage with each other. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
