<p>In order to provide an easily manufacturable airbag in which the inflated shape of airbag is regulated by panels in place of tether belts, and an airbag apparatus having such an airbag, the airbag (1) comprises a first panel (10) surrounding a first vacant chamber (5) and a second panel (20) surrounding a second vacant chamber (6). When manufacturing the airbag, confronting surfaces (14, 24) of panels (10, 20) are placed one on top of the other, and intermediate sections (13, 23) are connected thereto by sewing. Then, peripheral edges (11, 12, 21, 22) are superposed and connected by sewing. Finally, both ends in the extending direction of the peripheral edges (11, 12, 21, 22) are connected together by sewing. The airbag is manufactured by such a procedure. A tether panel (4) is composed by placing confronting surfaces (14, 24) one on top of the other. A vent port (7) for ensuring communication between vacant chambers (5, 6) is provided in the tether panel (4). <IMAGE></p> |
