PURPOSE: A level adjusting apparatus of a headrest for a vehicle is provided to adjust a height of the headrest automatically according to a passenger's height by adjusting an upper rail connected with a wire. CONSTITUTION: A fixing bracket(14) is fixed to an upper end of a front portion of a seat back frame(12) to mount a headrest(13). Extending portions(14a,14b) are formed to upper and lower ends of the fixing bracket. A support bar(15) for the headrest penetrates the upper extending portion. The support bar is formed integrally with the headrest to support both ends of the headrest. A wire(16) connecting to a lower end of the support bar is fixed to a lower rail(17b) after penetrating the lower extending portion and an upper rail(17a) of a seat track(17). A spring(18) is installed to the wire between the lower extending portion and the support bar to move the headrest elastically. A flange portion(15a) is formed to an upper end of the support bar not to lower the headrest at the lowest height. Thereby, the height of the headrest is adjusted by pulling the wire.
