PURPOSE: A method for assigning resources in a wireless mobile communication system is provided to efficiently use the resources without an additional signaling procedure by deciding whether assigning an additional resource in a selector on the basis of resource information reported from a BTS(Base Transceiver System) to a BSC(Base Station Controller) in a predetermined time interval. CONSTITUTION: A BSP(BTS control Processor) of a BTS checks whether an available resource exists in a predetermined time interval(S30). The BSP transmits resource information currently usable in the BTS to a CCP of a BSC(S32). The CCP receives resource information from the BSP, and transmits resource information to a selector(S34). If it is necessary for assigning an additional resource to process a traffic received from a packet network(S36), the selector decides whether it is possible for assigning the additional resource with reference to resource information received from the BSP through the CCP(S38). If it is possible for assigning the additional resource, the selector requests the assignment of the additional resource to the CCP(S42). The CCP requests the assignment of the additional resource to the BSP, receives the additional resource assignment result from the BSP, and transmits the additional resource assignment result to the selector(S44). If the additional resource assignment is successfully performed(S46), the selector additionally assigned resource information to a corresponding mobile terminal(S48).
