PURPOSE: A method for controlling a VCR odometer by using an amplifier output volume lever in a DVD combination receiver is provided to turn off an output signal of an audio output unit of an amplifier output volume lever, and to input a controlled value of the volume lever as a VCR odometer control value. CONSTITUTION: When a service mode request is received from a user, a VCR controller sets a service mode in a DVD combination receiver(S200,S202). The VCR controller drives a tape inserted into a deck driving unit(S204). A CTL signal and an envelope signal are inputted to a head amplifier and the VCR controller, respectively(S206). The VCR controller outputs the CTL signal to an audio controller to request a volume lever to be converted into a VCR odometer control lever(S208). The audio controller turns off an audio output control signal(S210), and applies a conversion value to the VCR controller to use as a VCR odometer control value(S212).
